Have you ever fallen in love more with the dies than with the stamp set?

That is how I felt when I first saw this suite. It was the dies that drew me to them. Maybe because my family is very outdoors and we love to camp, hike and bike and I thought these would be perfect to make cards for them and scrapbook pages. When I started to play with this stamp set I really wanted to use the blending brushes in a unique and different way. I chose to use the dies to cut out a template that I held to create a layered effect on the card. Rather than having a blended look by using the template I was able to create depth to the background without adding more layers. I finished it off by layering cardstock that I embossed the saying on with white embossing powder and the used one of the die cut images as a focal point.

I originally created this card as a swap with my Stampin’ Up! team and I’m happy to report that I was one of the winners of the swap with this card. Here is a close up picture where you can see the detail better.

After creating the card for the swap I decided I wanted to see what I could come up with using some of the other images and sayings in the set. Here’s what I came up with. What do you think? I still like the first one the best, but I like these as well. I know I’ve said this before, but I’m sad this one didn’t carry over from the mini catalog as I think it’s a great set and I love the dies.

Covention Swaps Group 3

Wahoo I got another group done already.

I am so in love with this page. I think it’s so cute and so well done. First the colors are great, second I love the stamp set and third the which feet accent is just adorable. It was created by Lynda Day. In fact I almost didn’t get this fabulous page because of a mix up in times. I’m so glad we were able to work it out a get it because it’s terrific.

I know I should have posted this sooner since it uses the fun set from the mini that just retired, but I still love the layout and it can be very in so many other ways. It was created by my up-line Janice Barlow. The unique thing about this page is she used the die cuts from the big shot as a template to sponge the letters.

This last one was created by my awesome friend Maxine Conrad. What you can’t see is that she used textured card-stock for the family as well as for the Cherry Cobbler Strips. It’s so easy to add your pictures to the adorable page.

I’m finally finding some time to get to then next cute set of Convention swaps. Hope you enjoy them.

This page just screams summer to me and I love it. It was created by Becky Kittaka. The color combination’s are so fun and have so much energy it just brightens your day to look at it. My totally terrific up-line Brandi Barnard created this darling page. I love how simple it is. She even created the girl bear so we could switch it out if we need too. Of course I will most likely keep it the boy since I have all boys, but I can sure turn the cute little bear into a fun card. What you can’t see of course is that she used crystal effects on the balloons to make them all shinny. It’s so cute.

Covention Swaps 12 x 12 group 1

Sorry I’ve been missing in action we’ve had internet problems and I’ve had camera issues, but I’m back and with some fabulous swaps form convention. The last group I did was 12 x 12 pages. There were actually two group for this one. Because there are so many I’m going to break them up in 4 groups. So enjoy!

There is no particular order here and I will try and let you know who did each one (hopefully they are all marked.) Thanks again to everyone who participated all of the pages are great. I’ve already used some for Club and I’m looking forward to adding pictures to them.

First up is mine. I used the awesome Awash with Flowers Set. It’s hard to tell but the flowers are done with a fun technique that gives you a water color look even though it’s a solid stamp.

Can I say I’m in love. This page is adorable. It was made by Melanie Williams and she would say it’s a little Cheese. I would have to agree. The last fun page for today was created by Deanne Henderson. I love how simple it is yet very I catching. There’s so much detail in all the flowers. Off course they were created with our great punches again. What you can’t see very well is the fun Rhinestones in the center of the small flowers. With 150 per package it’s so easy to add fun bling to your page.
