Stampin’ Sunday 3-22-09

Our small group decided that we wanted to do a wow card swap in Hawaii. Of course I didn’t figure out my card until two-o-clock in the morning the night before I was leaving, but hey at least I figured it out. I actually finished making them on the plane ride from Maui to the Big Island.

Because it was a wow card I really wanted to use something fun. We have two new die that are available April 1st. They are pop up dies. The Cake Pop-up Die and the Ball Pop-Up Die. I pre-ordered the cake so I just had to try it out. It’s really fun beacuse it pops up out of the card when you open it. It is thick so you really need something to hold it closed. I decided to put a ribbon around it that slides off.

Here is the inside of the card. I should have decorated the cake a bit more. I think I’m going to add some pretty in pink 1/4″ grosgrain ribbon to the middle layer.

I will add a better picture with the ribbon around it.

Stampin’ Sunday 3-15-09

I made this fun book Sunday Morning. It only took me about an hour and that includes creating it. I was asked to create a paper bag book for a class at church. I really had fun creating this book. I had never created a paper bag book before so this was really fun.

I love that I could have fun pull outs to go with it. I chose the good friend stamp set so that it could be versatile and you could put just about anything with it.

The book has a total of 10 pages plus 3 pullouts that are front and back. I had fun using the in-colors and the good morning sunshine paper. Here is a sample of just one of the page sections.

Since this was already planned for a class and features just one stamp set I am offering it as a project kit or a group class. You will find a list below of everything that is included as well as everything you will need to complete it. You can order this kit to make at home or get a group together and I will come to you. Stampin’ Sunday 3-8-09

I was watching some of the wonderful training video’s on the demonstrator site the other day and I came across one by Linda Hansen. She is one of the wonderful presenters at Stampin’ Up!® She was demonstrating using the blank vinyl with the big shot. She made a mirror with her name on it so I just had to give it a try.

Her name is spelled with and I and I loved how she put the flower over the I. I chose the word smile beacause everyone should remember to smile and because it had an I in it.

One of the cool techniques she showed was embossing on the vinyl. She used Craft ink and then embossed it with clear embossing powder. She even stamped right on it and embossed it so that it would have a fun pattern. I think this would be fun to try on some of our great patterns as well as the raw vinyl. Stampin’ Sunday 2-22-09

My up-line Mindy Bywater made this for our 3D swap at Convention. It’s a smaller version of the table top scrapbooks.

This cute little mini album is just 5″ x 5″. It would make a really cute gift or is a fun album for little girls. It’s really easy to make and I love that it’s sturdy enough to stand up on a counter-top or you can fold it up and leave it flat.
