πŸ‘Όβœ¨ Day 17 – Caroling Crew & Joy to the World

Day 17 paired Caroling Crew with Joy to the World β€” and these two themes came together perfectly!

Originally, I planned to pull out an older stamp set for this challenge… but the creative spark took over again, and I ended up making some holiday punch/die art magic instead. And honestly? I think you’re going to love what came out of this one!

I started by looking through my current sets for unexpected shapes and pieces I could repurpose. My eyes kept returning to the Bee My Valentine Stamp Set and matching punch β€” specifically the bee wings. And then it hit me…

✨ Angel wings!

From there, the ideas flowed as I searched my stash for more pieces to build a sweet holiday angel. Here’s everything I used and how I transformed each element:

πŸ‘Ό Angel Punch-Art Breakdown

Bee My Valentine Stamp Set (#162546) + Punch (#162553)

  • Bee Body (Head): Stamped in Petal Pink on white cardstock – be sure to cut off the stinger.
  • Bee Wings (Angel Wings): Pool Party stamped on white β€” stamped off for the base, full strength for the outline + Wink of Stella for shimmer
  • Bee Wings (Hair): Punch only (no stamping) –
    • Early Espresso cardstock
    • You will need a total of 7
    • One will be punched with the Bee Body to create bangs with the heart arches on the inside.
  • Eyes: Created by masking the bee’s smile stamp to isolate the smile only for the β€œeye” shapes

Swirled Designs Dies (#167032)

  • Halo: Small oval cut in Gold Foil Sheets (#132622)

Ornamental Christmas Dies (#166000)

  • Dress: Christmas tree die (I used the shorter one with double flares) cut from Peaceful Garden Glimmer Paper (#165929)

Alphabet Γ  La Mode Dies (#160750)

  • Mouth: Inside cut of the number β€œ6” (cut from black cardstock)

Gift of Joy Stamp Set (#169238)

  • Garland: Stamped in Pool Party + Wink of Stella, trimmed to size
  • Hands: Petal Pink stamped on white β€” created using the inside of the ornament stamp, cut apart
  • Song Book: Stamped in Versamark and heat-embossed in gold on Gold Foil Sheets (#132622), trimmed and scored down the center to give it dimension

Sentiment

  • β€œMerry” and β€œChristmas” stamped in Azure Afternoon
  • Punched with the Three Banner Punch (#167050)
A layout of various punched and stamped elements for a holiday angel project, including parts labeled for the bee body, halo, mouth, garland, and more, showcased on a white sheet.

🌟 Background Details

  • Everyday Arches Dies (#164629):
    • Main arch in Balmy Blue, embossed (I used the retired Merry Melody #156392) and brushed lightly with white ink
    • Larger white arch behind for a layered frame
  • Card Base: Azure Afternoon
    • Background stamped with the leaf-fill image from Gift of Joy to add depth
  • Ribbon: Sheer Balmy Blue Ribbon (#165767)
  • Adhesives: Lots of dimensionals + mini glue dots to build the layered angel

The result?
✨ A super fun, whimsical work of art that brings both joy and creative surprise to the holiday season.

Christmas and Deer Scrapbook page

While Christmas is over I still wanted a chance to share the two retiring stamp set that I have that are Christmas. Here in Utah we’ve been wondering if Spring was ever going to come. We’ve had record breaking snow and it’s been coming down clear into April. I figured rather than making cards since Christmas is still a ways off, I would focus instead on scrapbook pages that I can put some of those fun Holiday pictures on.

I went with something a bit not traditional mixing together, browns, blues and greens. I also wanted to use as many retiring items that were seasonal as I could. You may notice that I used some new and returning colors. Yep, I’m enjoying playing with some of these new colors. The lighter blue is the new in color Boho Blue and the darker color is a returning in color that has been added to the core colors, Misty Moonlight. I love how they work so well together.

There is so much detail to this page that I thought I would share a few close up shots. The trees along the bottom are a punch where as the other trees I fussy cut as well as some of the deer. What I really love is the greetings all meshed together. Both of these sets have lots of great says that work well on cards, but I thought they made a fun word blog on the page. You will also notice the two embossed images using the Wintry 3D Embossing Folders. I always love it when a project turns out well, especially when I didn’t have an idea what to do when I started.

Here’s the fun projects we made last month.

I taught them how to make fun snowΒ globes and how to use our great glitter with less mess.Β  Here is the snow globe on a card.

Here is how in incorporatedΒ the snow globeΒ into the scrapbookΒ pages.Β  I usually like to make the scrapbook page match one of the cards so you can see how versatileΒ our products can be.Β  It’s also a great way to start to learn how to take card ideas and turn them into scrapbook pages and scrapbook pages into cards.

My card members always make two each of two different cards.Β  That way you have one to keepΒ and one to give away.Β  Here was the second card they got to make.Β  This time we used window sheets for the snow globe instead of the glitter.

Sometimes I throw in a bonus project for everyone.Β  I just had to play with our fun pop-up christmas tree die.Β  This is the outside of the card.

On the 10th day of Christmas . . .

Β

TheΒ Stampin’ SantaΒ gave toΒ you a more Hybrid Cards from “My Digital Studio.”

So I still just love this product.Β  Here’s some fun easy Hybrid Cards that I made.Β  First I designed what I wanted on MDS then I printed it and added it to my project.

This is one of my favorites.Β  I love this quick and easy tag I made.Β  We even did this one as a make and take.Β  The “Don’t Open until Dec. 25 is from MDS then I punched it out.Β  The tag is one of the tags from the two tags die for the Big Shot.

.

.

.

.

.

This fun card also used the Big Shot.Β  I just layered 1″ squares on a white piece of cardstock.Β  Then I ran it through the Big Shot and cut it with the Top Note Die.Β  The “Merry and Bright was done with MDS then punched with the 1 3/4” circle punch.

.

.

I really like this card.Β  The base of the card is Embossed using the Big Shot.Β  Then I stamped the cute snowman from the Hostess set in the Holiday Min.Β  The Ornament was created on MDS and then punched out with the ornament punch.

.

.

.

Here’s another quick and easy card.Β  It’s a fun 3 x 3 card once again embossed with the Big Shot.Β  The ornament on the front was created in MDS then punched out.Β  We also put a white paper inside to make it easy to write on and stamped a cute little tree on it.Β  So easy and simple.

Remember if you order MDS before December 26th you can get it for $15.00 off.Β  So if Santa didn’t get it for you treat yourself and get it from me.

To order call me at 435-245-5321 (Home) or 435-232-2655 (Cell & Messages.)Β  E-mail me at andersoncandice@hotmail.com.Β  Order on-line at www.candiceanderson.stampinup.net. Click on the shop now in the upper right hand corner.

On the 9th day of Christmas . . .

TheΒ Stampin’ SantaΒ gave toΒ you a fun Holiday Card.

This is a card that I did at one of my parties.Β  I really wish that you could see it better.Β  The back is sprayed with the White Shimmer Spray so it really sparkles.

Here’s the really great news.Β  The shimmer paints were so popular that they will continue to be available as a write in even after the mini catalog is over.Β  If you haven’t tried these yet let me know.Β  I’d love to come and show them to you.

The fun stamp set is the Holiday Pines from the Mini Catalog.Β  It’s a hostess set and you only have a couple more weeks that you can earn it.Β  Talk to me to find out more.
