Stampin’ Sunday 3-8-09

smile-mirrorI was watching some of the wonderful training video’s on the demonstrator site the other day and I came across one by Linda Hansen.  She is one of the wonderful presenters at Stampin’ Up!®  She was demonstrating using the blank vinyl with the big shot.  She made a mirror with her name on it so I just had to give it a try.

Her name is spelled with and I and I loved how she put the flower over the I.  I chose the word smile beacause everyone should remember to smile and because it had an I in it.

smile-mirror-closeOne of the cool techniques she showed was embossing on the vinyl.  She used Craft ink and then embossed it with clear embossing powder.  She even stamped right on it and embossed it so that it would have a fun pattern.  I think this would be fun to try on some of our great patterns as well as the raw vinyl.  You can check out more of our Dècor Elements line by clicking here.

Swapping Saturday 3-7-09

sparkling-flowerI received this card in a swap as well and have always loved it.  Sorry I don’t know who created it.

I really wish that you could see it better but the flower in the center is covered with glitter and it just really sparkles.  I am really drawn to the effect that is created by cutting apart the paper after is was stamped.  I just really like the look of this card.

I think the flowers were colored in with a blender pen since two of them are in-colors I belive.  You could also use a Aqua painter.  The yellow was probably colored with a marker.

Freewheeling Friday 3-6-09

sun-fun-cardI received this cute card at convention.  I was created by  D. Waterman (I think that was in her email address).  I love how she used the word window punch to create the Popsicles.  The watermelon is made by cutting the 1-1/4″ and 1-3/8″ Circle punches in 1/2.

I really love how she kept the wheel part simple and just rolled it across in the middle.  She also rolled the background of the white part with a different roller.  This is just a fun summer card.  I think it would also be a cute accent on a scrapbookpage.

Thrifty Thursday 3-5-09

Here’s a blast from the past.  This was the first Scrapbook page I made as a Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator.  I used one of our Simply Scrapin’®Kits.  I don’t think there is anything (besides paper and inks) that is still available.

campI really love the Simply Scrapin’ Kitsbecause they make scrapbooking fast and easy.  They come with the stickers, DSP and Cardstock add a few stamps and accessories and you are good to go.

This page really works for Thrifty Thursday because it uses the Stampin’ Pastels® to achieve all the great colors.  The chalks are a very economical way to get our wonderful colors.  This is a simple technique called poppin’ pastels.  It’s actually really easy.  All you do is stamp your image using the VersaMark® ink and the apply the chalk.  The best way to apply the chalk is with our wonderful sponge daubers.

If you’ve never tried this technique before I encourage you to give it a try.  If it’s been a while then it’s a great time to remember it.  Here is a list of supplies you will need:
 105542 Stampn’ Pastels $24.95
102283 VersaMark Pad $7.50
102892 Sponge Daubers (12) $10.95
Stamp Set of your Choice (Bold sets work the best)

Wacky Wednesday 3-4-09

hawaii-packageI like Wacky Wednesday because it gives me a chance to share some other fun stuff.  I received this in the mail and I was so excited to get it.  I love that Stampin’ Up! sends our travel documents in such a fun packaging.  I’m so excited to leave for Hawaii next week.  My kids are so sad that they are not going with us.

hawaii-package-insideIsn’t this bag so cute.  I love the luggage tags.  I can’t wait to see what other fun surprises they have in store for us when we get there.  The hotel we are staying in is so nice.  If you want to see how Stampin’ Up! spoils us you can check out the hotel at www.HiltonWaikoloaVillage.com.  This place is 62 acres and has canal boats and swiss made trams to get around it.  How cool is that.  There is even a Dolphin Learning Center where you can swim with the dolphins (I wish that was paid for).  I will definitely be sharing pictures and more fun info when I get back.

incentive09_hawaii_190wI want to send out a big “THANK YOU” to all my wonderful hostess, customers and down-line that helped me to achieve this fabulous vacation.  I would love for you to join me in the future for other wonderful opportunities like this.  Please check out my JOIN ME section to learn more.   I would love to have you on my team.

Aloha!
