🦕 Day 7 – Reindeer Games & Holiday Hustle

Day 7 was another challenge that really made me think outside the box! The themes — Reindeer Games and Holiday Hustle — go perfectly together, but there was one small problem… I didn’t have any current reindeer stamp sets. 🦌

Sure, I could’ve reached for a retired set, but I had a fun idea in my head and decided to give it a try instead. I pulled out my dino stamps and dies and got creative — dressing up our cute dinosaurs with antlers and a top hat, and setting the scene for a playful game of tic-tac-toe with presents and ornaments! 🎁✨

To make it even more fun, I used the colors from this week’s Global Design Project Challenge (#GDP) for my color inspiration:
🎨 Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, and Granny Apple Green

Definitely not your traditional Christmas palette, but it worked beautifully for this bright, cheerful, and whimsical card.

I paired everything with the Gift of Joy Stamp Set and a fun fold layout to bring it all together. It’s a playful mix of festive fun and creativity that’s sure to make someone smile this holiday season! 💚

🌟 Day 4 – A Creative Challenge: Nativity Night Meets Stocking Surprise

Today’s Christmas Card Challenge really pushed me to get creative! I wanted to see if I could combine two completely different themes into one cohesive design — and I love how it turned out.

#ACardADayInNovember2025Nativity Night – peaceful starry sky, manger scene, or “O Holy Night”
🧦 #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallengeStocking SurpriseHanging stockings or hidden treats.

I’ve been wanting to create a window card using the Arch Dies, and this felt like the perfect opportunity. My goal was to design a card that tells a story — looking out the window, you see a peaceful nativity scene, while inside there’s a warm, cozy holiday setting complete with stockings hung and ready for Christmas morning.

This project reminded me how much I love finding ways to blend techniques and themes. Sometimes the best ideas come when you push yourself just a little outside your comfort zone. 💖

✨ Supplies & Details

This card took a little extra creativity — and a lot of wonderful products! I loved mixing and matching textures, colors, and dies to bring this cozy Christmas window scene to life. Here are the main supplies I used:

🪞 Dies & Embellishments:

🖌️ Tools & Coloring:

🎨 Ink Colors:

  • Balmy Blue
  • Early Espresso
  • Old Olive
  • Mossy Meadow

I loved how these products worked together to create depth, warmth, and sparkle — from the soft shimmer of the glimmer paper and ribbon to the textured brick background and peaceful glow behind the window.

Easy Winter Craft: Faux Buffalo Check Cards

Nothing says cozy winter crafting like a Buffalo Check background! ❄️
This week’s Make It With Me Monday was all about creating a faux Buffalo Check look using simple supplies and a few easy steps. I made this fun card for the Christmas Card Challenges — and I absolutely love how the faux Buffalo Check background turned out. It’s the perfect background technique for all your winter projects— warm, rustic, and so fun to make!! 🖤❤️

To create your own faux Buffalo Check background, you’ll need:

  • 🟥 A piece of red or white cardstock
  • ⬛ A black ink pad
  • 🖌️ A blending brush
  • 📄 Masking paper
  • ✨ Your favorite stamps and embellishments

I used the Weekend Adventure stamp set to finish my project — it pairs perfectly with this pattern for a fun, outdoorsy feel.

🎄✨ Be sure to follow along to see all my creations for the Christmas Card Challenge!

Today’s cards are for Day 3 featuring:

#ACardADayInNovember2025Warm & Cozy Christmas

Think cozy cocoa mugs, snuggly sweaters, cute mittens, and classic Buffalo Check patterns — the perfect ingredients for a warm holiday vibe. ❤️💚

☕ This or That: Whipped Cream or Marshmallows?

Since this card has such a cozy winter vibe, I had to ask… what’s your favorite topping for a warm cup of cocoa? Tell me in the comments — Team Whipped Cream or Team Marshmallows? ☕️🍫

Watch the Replay Here:

🎨 Why I Love This Technique

What makes this background so special? It’s easy, adaptable, and looks like patterned paper — without ever having to cut into your DSP stash! You can switch up the colors, change the ink intensity, or even try it in non-traditional combos for Valentine’s or spring cards.

💌 Additional Samples

I couldn’t stop at just one! Here are a few extra samples I created using this same technique. Each card shows just how versatile this background can be — from rustic holiday designs to cozy winter greetings.

Day 1 – Creative Christmas Cards with Paper Pumpkin Kits

For Day 1 of my Christmas card challenges, I decided to reach for my Paper Pumpkin kit! I love how quick and easy these kits make it to get crafty — especially when time is short and creativity is flowing.

Three crafted Christmas cards featuring traditional holiday designs, including an ornament with 'Deck the Halls,' a card stating 'Merry Christmas,' and one proclaiming 'Joy to the World,' adorned with festive decorations in red and green.

This month’s kit was the perfect way to jump into the holiday spirit with some traditional red and green cheer. I wanted to see if I could stretch the kit a little further, so I challenged myself to create one card that worked for both of my Christmas card challenges — plus fit the #GDP520 challenge, too!

To round it out I couldn’t resist adding in a fun scrapbook layout using some of the leftover pieces, too!

Here’s what I took on today:
#ACardADayInNovemberDay 1: Traditional Red & Green Cheer
🎅 #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallengeDay 1: Merry and Bright Beginning
💚 #GDP520CASE the Designer: Sue Mohr

It’s amazing how versatile these Paper Pumpkin kits are — you can create cards, tags, gift packaging, or even add them into your memory-keeping projects. My scrapbook page features the same theme as my card — bright pops of red and green, festive accents, and a cozy, cheerful vibe.

Stamp with Me Monday: Craft a Simple, Versatile Card Layout

I have been sharing a lot lately on my Facebook page; however, I feel that it’s easier to share more details with you on my blog. My goal it to go live every Monday (currently on Facebook) with the first Monday featuring a project you can stamp along with me. I have lots of videos and samples on my Facebook page if you want to check them out.

For these projects there is no need to have the exact product I’m using. Instead I give you basic information to grab from your supplies and how to turn it into a stunning project. Below you will find everything you need to follow along. Then watch the video to learn how to create your own projects.

In this video, I created a simple yet versatile card design that allows you to craft multiple unique cards, each with its own flair!

Here’s what you’ll need to follow along:

  • Designer paper: 3″ x 4-1/2″ (a bold design works best!)
  • Two coordinating cardstock pieces: 3-1/2″ x 4-3/4″ & 3-3/4″ x 5″
  • Card base: 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ (scored at 4-1/4″)
  • Scrap pieces for a stamped image or sentiment (I’m keeping mine simple with just a greeting!)
  • Optional: Ribbon & coordinating embellishments

You may have heard me mention creating your own designer series paper during the video, so I decided to give it a try and loved it so much I had to share. I created a quick video if you want to learn more.
