Thrifty Thursday is all about cost efficiency.  What I love about this card is it uses the products that come in the standard starter kit.  Remember you can get started as a Stampin’ Up!® demonstrator for three easy payments of $67.00.  Click here for more details.  The starter kit has over $335.00 worth of product in it for just $199.00.

I  really like this card beacuse it’s simple and easy to change the thanks-flower-normalcolors.  The flower can be stamped or you can create any color by stampin’ it in VersaMark® and then using the Stampin’ Pastels® to add color.  I recommend using the sponge daubers for this technique because it is easy and fast but you can also use q-tips.  I really love the Stampin’ Pastels because they give you all the 48 colors plus 3 neutral colors for less than $25.00.  It’s really the best way to get all of our colors to start off with and they are so easy to use.

thanks-flower-dressed-upOne of the other things I love about this card is it’s so easy to dress it up.  Here I have stamped the back ground (sorry it’s hard to see) with the little flower in the set and then I also added some ribbon along the top.  Any white ribbon is great to start with because it goes with pretty much everything plus you can dye it to match your colors.  If you would like to learn how to use our great chalks or to dye ribbon I would love to come to your home and show you and your friends how.  Just give me a call and we can set up a date 435-245-5321.

One last thing that I love about this card is the saying.  It comes from fundamental phrases.  This stamp set is so versital.  I has many different sayings.  You could make up a bunch of these cards in different colors without the saying and then just choose the appropriate saying when you need it.  It’s so simple and easy.  You don’t need to run to a store every time you need a quick card.

We really had fun at club last night doing these great projects using the Circle Cutter.  I decided that it was a good one for Thrifty Thursday because the circle cutter can really save you a lot of money.  I cuts circles from I think one inch up to 6″ and anywhere in-between.  I also love that it cuts rings.  I have seen fun papers made with circles and I love that now I can create my own in any color combination that I want.  I also love the texture that it adds.

march-09-club-pagesNow I will be honest the circle cutter does take a little practice as they quickly found out at club.  However once you get it down I think you will love it as much as I do.  It is so smooth and fast.  I’ve really enjoyed playing with it and I’m sure I will enjoy it for many years to come.  Right now is the perfect time to get this great product because when you by the cutter and the mat plus replacement blades it puts you over $50.00 so you can get a sale-a-bration set.  This item has been on back order so you may not be able to order it on-line, however you can place an order through me.  Be sure to get your orders in early as I leave on the 20th and won’t be back until the 30th.

congrats-march-club-1I really love how I could use the punches to work with the circle cutter.  On this card I punched out the Congratulations (from the new spring mini).  I also punched the Chocolate Chip and Old Olive back ground papers.  Then I used the circle cutter for the larger Cameo Coral circle.

We also focused on texture on the projects.  The Old Olive papers are all textured card-stock.  On many of the Chocolate Chip papers we ran them through the big shot using the circle texture plates.  It’s hard to see but it really adds to the pages and card.

Here’s a blast from the past.  This was the first Scrapbook page I made as a Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator.  I used one of our Simply Scrapin’®Kits.  I don’t think there is anything (besides paper and inks) that is still available.

campI really love the Simply Scrapin’ Kitsbecause they make scrapbooking fast and easy.  They come with the stickers, DSP and Cardstock add a few stamps and accessories and you are good to go.

This page really works for Thrifty Thursday because it uses the Stampin’ Pastels® to achieve all the great colors.  The chalks are a very economical way to get our wonderful colors.  This is a simple technique called poppin’ pastels.  It’s actually really easy.  All you do is stamp your image using the VersaMark® ink and the apply the chalk.  The best way to apply the chalk is with our wonderful sponge daubers.

If you’ve never tried this technique before I encourage you to give it a try.  If it’s been a while then it’s a great time to remember it.  Here is a list of supplies you will need:
 105542 Stampn’ Pastels $24.95
102283 VersaMark Pad $7.50
102892 Sponge Daubers (12) $10.95
Stamp Set of your Choice (Bold sets work the best)

thanks-treesI love the simplicity of this card.  I received it in Brandi’s Swap as well.  It was made by my good friend Deborah.  I picked this card for Thrifty Thursday because it’s so simple to make.  It uses just one stamp set so it’s very cost effective.  You could make several at once very easily.  It’s also one that you could make and leave the greeting off and then just add a quick greeting when you need it.  Any of our great greeting stamp sets would work with this card and there is plenty of room for a variety of sizes.

I got this card in a swap and just fell in love with it.  It’s so simple yet just has that wow factor.  I’m not sure who it was created by she just had an e-mail address so I can’t give proper credit sorry.  I love how she did the towels on a little towel bar.

mr-mrsI think this card is a great card for Thrifty Thursday because it’s quick and easy to produce.  Plus it’s so easy to do in many different colors.  It would make a great bridal shower card or wedding gift card.  You could make the card the same colors as their wedding colors or if you know their bathroom colors that would be really cute.  Then you could through in some matching towels and have a cute gift that matches.  How fun is that.

So anyway here is what she used:
115100 Together Forever $22.95
#109034 Real Red 1/4″ Grosgrain Ribbon $4.95 (You could do any color)
#104336 Silver Brads (200) $6.95
#100712 Brushed Silver Paper $7.95
101227 1/16″ Circle Punch $8.95

Colors used: Black, White, Real Red (you could choose any color)

valentines-heartToday we had to make lots of Valentine’s for my son’s classes.  So we decided to make the same fun project.  My son, Mikey had a lot of fun helping to make them.  Then we put them in bags so the candy would stay in when he gave them out.  I love making the Valentine’s because they get something fun and different.

lots-of-valentinesIt was also nice because one of my other sons told me last minute that he need some as well.  He’s in middle school so I didn’t think he needed them.  Thankfully I had extra Candy and Paper already so it was easy to make more for him.  Once again Stampin’ Up!© saves the day.
