At leadership this year (2010) they encouraged us to share our Stampin’ Story. Many of you may have heard my story or bits and pieces of it, but I wanted to share it with you.
In the fall of 2006 I was going through a rough time and was looking for something new. I worked primarily with men and I had 3 boys so I was really looking for some female companionship. I loved to scrapbook and had done it for a few years. My younger sister was a hobby demonstrator and I had bought a few stamps from her to help her out. However I thought they were too expensive and I didn’t really see how I could use them in scrapbooking. I know better know.
My sister-in-law, Mindy, had joined Stampin’ Up! in May and had a booth at our 4th of July fair. I signed up for her newsletter and for the most part just looked at it when it would come. In November she was having a 6×6 calendar class. I thought they were cute and would make great Christmas gifts so I signed up to make 4 of them (crazy I know.) The entire time I kept saying “I didn’t know you could do that with Stamps.” I learned so much and I was going crazy.
The class was Friday night and I went home over the weekend and started looking at the catalog with a whole new light. Suddenly I wanted everything in it. We went to dinner at my Mom’s on Sunday and I casually asked Mindy to tell me more about signing up. I had sworn that I would never join a party plan company, because I didn’t want to get up in front of people. However I loved the idea of clubs and thought I could do that. I was also an art major in college and thought that this was something I could be really good at.
I surprised her by signing up Monday morning. I have been so grateful for that decision and Stampin’ Up! has truly changed my life. It has given me the opportunity to meet and make many new friends, earn additional income for my family as well as earning an all expensive paid trip to Hawaii. I truly love what I do and I think many can see that when I demonstrate.
I discovered that I love doing parties as well as my clubs. There is just something about helping someone discover they can make something beautiful with just paper, stamps and ink. I’m so grateful for this blessing in my life and the friendships I have made. I love having a down-line that I can share things with as well as my customers. I go to any Stampin’ Up! event I can. I’ve attended every Convention even the one in Denver with my 4 week old baby at the time.
My favorite events are Leadership, I’ve had the pleasure of attending 3 and hope that I will be able to continue to do so. If you are looking for something new and way to change your life for the better I’d love to talk to you more about joining my team. Thanks for listening and keep on Stampin’
