May club was lots of fun. We focused on the Designer Series Paper promotion that is going on this month. The deal is buy 3 get on free on any of our Designer Series Paper, Designer Prints Paper and Textured Card-stock. I love our DSP so I’m really excited about this promotion. It ends May 31st so there is still time for you to get in on this great promotion.
The paper that I chose to showcase is the the Walk in the Park from the Occasions Mini Catalog. I used the layout design from page 6 of the mini catalog as my inspiration. Because I was making a two page layout I actually split the design across the two pages. I wanted to use the Textured card-stock so I used it as the pieces that were punched. It adds a nice texture to the page. Both the large butterfly and the forever card-stock were cut out with the big shot.
I also created a card that matched the theme from the pages. Remember that when you are using DSPyou can use it as just an accent on your page or card. You don’t need to make the entire project out of it. One of my favorite parts is how fun the butterfly looks under the ribbon. You may have noticed the words in the oval. The original saying is thank you. We used the markers to color just the edge and the butterfly. Then we used “Friend” from Fundamental Phrases to add the word. This technique is great to make a variety of different cards with any saying that you want.
This last card was a design that I cased from a card we made at Amy’s meeting last month. I loved the layout and thought it would work great with the DSP. As you can see I’ve only used the DSP for the butterfly and the small background pieces behind it. Because the DSP is thin you can actually corner round all three of the small strips at the same time.

This post is a little late, but I thought you would like to see the fun projects we did for club in April. I featured the fun Just Beachy set from the mini catalog and showed them how to do the cracked Glass technique. I love this technique it looks so cool and is actually really easy to do.I got this fun idea from Kelly. You can check out her blog here: http://stampinparadise.blogspot.com. I changed it a bit.
I thought if you are really different than maybe you would be a different color. I don’t know if you noticed it but this fish is the only one in the set that goes the other way. Here is a close up of the cracked glass.
Here is the scrapbook page that I came up with using the card as my inspiration. I love how simple it is, but it has just a fun summer feel. We colored the fish with the watercolor wonder crayons and a aqua painter.
This is the second card that my card group made. I totally cased it from a blog, I tried to find it again so I could tell you who, but I couldn’t. I changed the saying in the center, but the rest is basically like hers. I thought it was a really cute card. The size is actually 5×5 go go in our 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 envelops. The fish are punched out with the 1 1/4″ Square Punch and then sponged with the pacific point.
We stamped Happy Birthday from the $10.00 and under page on the inside. Of course we used Whisper White craft in so that it would show up.
Since I had also just got the Matchbox die of course we had to try that out as well. Here is our fun projects using the match box die and the designer series paper from the mini catalog Walk in the Park.

We really had fun at club last night doing these great projects using the Circle Cutter. I decided that it was a good one for Thrifty Thursday because the circle cutter can really save you a lot of money. I cuts circles from I think one inch up to 6″ and anywhere in-between. I also love that it cuts rings. I have seen fun papers made with circles and I love that now I can create my own in any color combination that I want. I also love the texture that it adds.
Now I will be honest the circle cutter does take a little practice as they quickly found out at club. However once you get it down I think you will love it as much as I do. It is so smooth and fast. I’ve really enjoyed playing with it and I’m sure I will enjoy it for many years to come. Right now is the perfect time to get this great product because when you by the cutter and the mat plus replacement blades it puts you over $50.00 so you can get a sale-a-bration set. This item has been on back order so you may not be able to order it on-line, however you can place an order through me. Be sure to get your orders in early as I leave on the 20th and won’t be back until the 30th.
I really love how I could use the punches to work with the circle cutter. On this card I punched out the Congratulations (from the new spring mini). I also punched the Chocolate Chip and Old Olive back ground papers. Then I used the circle cutter for the larger Cameo Coral circle.
We also focused on texture on the projects. The Old Olive papers are all textured card-stock. On many of the Chocolate Chip papers we ran them through the big shot using the circle texture plates. It’s hard to see but it really adds to the pages and card.

Today I decided to share the projects that we did at club this month. They were all centered around the wonderful Sale-A-Brations Sets. We also used the technique that I showed on Technique Tuesday February 3rd. You can check out all the details there.
The Scrapbookers got to make this cute 12 x 12 double page layout. I got the idea form page 4 of the sale-a-bration catalog. I love that the paper, Polka Dot Punches stamp set and the ribbon all work together.
Colors- Certainly Celery, So Saffron, Bashful Blue, Kraft, Whisper White
My card club members get to make 2 cards 2 of each. Their cards also focused on the Sale-A-Bration Sets. In fact one of the cards I just copied form page 4 of the Sale-A-Bration catalog. I just changed the ribbon to the Certainly Celery poly-twill from the Sale-A-Bration Ribbon Bundle.
