I’ve been doing a Stampin’ Bootcamp the last couple of weeks and each we she gives us a Stampin’ Task. Last week our task was to try out a new technique. I was excited for this task because I had just seen this technique at Janice’s meeting and I was anxious to give it a try.
I don’t know if the technique has a name or not. Janice saw it at Stampin’ Up! regional in Orlando. This technique is embossing the flowers from the pretties kit. I was told that they used a blender pen and just got the flower wet. But I found I couldn’t keep it wet long enough to keep the powder on when I would heat it. So I did it the way the I learned at our meeting.
It’s really pretty easy all I did was ink up the flower by pressing it into a VersaMark pad. Then I sprinkled on the embossing powder and heated it up. The sample I had seen was done with the black embossing powder, but I wanted to try some different stuff. I also used iridescent ice on one flower.
I also wanted to try it with color. I pressed the flower into the regal rose craft pad. Then I covered it with iridescent ice on the flower. I actually used all three flowers on my card. I really loved how it turned out. I think it would make a great card for a teenager.
