⛄ Day 8 – Penguin Pals & Snowy Sketch Challenge!

Day 8 brought another fun sketch challenge, this time paired with the theme Penguin Pals — adorable chilly friends bundled up with scarves and hats! 🐧🧣

For this challenge, I decided to reach for one of my favorite retired snowman sets, along with a retired snowflake set and some shaker elements, to create a super fun and easy shaker card made with flip flaps. ❄️

The stylish shapes dies were perfect for creating my shaker window. If you want to learn how to make one of these cards, you can check out my tutorial video here:

For this design, I focused on cool winter blues, combining a few of this year’s beautiful In ColorsCloud Cover and Secret Sea — with Misty Moonlight for depth. I added a pop of brightness with Poppy Parade, then finished it off with sparkle using Wink of Stella and the Misty Moonlight Silver-Edged Ribbon.

Our Blending Pens made coloring these snowmen super easy, and I added the perfect finishing touch with a few Hues of Blue flower embellishments, which remind me of snowflakes and matched perfectly with my color palette.

This fun shaker card is full of motion, shimmer, and joy — sure to delight and surprise anyone who receives it this holiday season! 💙✨

🦕 Day 7 – Reindeer Games & Holiday Hustle

Day 7 was another challenge that really made me think outside the box! The themes — Reindeer Games and Holiday Hustle — go perfectly together, but there was one small problem… I didn’t have any current reindeer stamp sets. 🦌

Sure, I could’ve reached for a retired set, but I had a fun idea in my head and decided to give it a try instead. I pulled out my dino stamps and dies and got creative — dressing up our cute dinosaurs with antlers and a top hat, and setting the scene for a playful game of tic-tac-toe with presents and ornaments! 🎁✨

To make it even more fun, I used the colors from this week’s Global Design Project Challenge (#GDP) for my color inspiration:
🎨 Calypso Coral, Petal Pink, and Granny Apple Green

Definitely not your traditional Christmas palette, but it worked beautifully for this bright, cheerful, and whimsical card.

I paired everything with the Gift of Joy Stamp Set and a fun fold layout to bring it all together. It’s a playful mix of festive fun and creativity that’s sure to make someone smile this holiday season! 💚

🎅 Day 6 – Santa’s Workshop Meets Winter Whiskers

What does a Halloween stamp set have to do with a Christmas card challenge? Turns out — everything! 🐾🎄

For Day 6, I decided to have a little fun combining two worlds: Santa’s Workshop and Winter Whiskers. I pulled out the Spooky Halloween stamp set and transformed it into the sweetest, coziest holiday card! With a little creativity (and a Santa hat or two), my spooky kitty became an adorable Christmas helper ready to deliver gifts straight from the North Pole. 🎁✨

Bright pops of Real Red and Old Olive set the stage, while embossed textures, peppermint accents, and a touch of Wink of Stella brought it all to life. Watch the short to see all the different samples.

This just goes to show — you can stretch your stamp sets far beyond their original season!

🎄 Day 5 – Christmas Village Color Challenge

Day 5 of the Christmas Card Challenge gave me a fun opportunity to play with two themes in one card!

A festive reverse easel card featuring a church illustration and text that reads 'Season's Greetings' and 'May your days be merry'. The card is decorated with green and red colors, along with a ribbon.

#ACardADayInNovember2025Christmas Village
🎨 #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallengeColor Challenge #1: Poppy, Evergreen & Sea Glass

For my color combo, I chose Poppy Parade, Shaded Spruce, and Soft Sea Foam from Stampin’ Up!’s amazing color collection — they worked beautifully together to capture that warm and welcoming Christmas village feel.

Text graphic promoting Day 5 of the Christmas Card Challenge with a snowy background and the words 'Christmas Village' featured prominently.

To bring my idea to life, I pulled out one of my favorite retired sets from last year — Yuletide Village (164310) — and used it to create this quick and easy reverse easel card. I added a touch of shimmer with Wink of Stella and used the Decorative Trees Stamp Set (164275) for the coordinating trees and greeting.

The Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder (161600) gave my card base the perfect texture, and I finished it off with the Shaded Spruce & Soft Sea Foam Border Ribbon (165234) for that elegant layered touch.

🌟 I love how the finished card feels like a peek into a peaceful Christmas village — simple, festive, and full of cheer!

🌟 Day 4 – A Creative Challenge: Nativity Night Meets Stocking Surprise

Today’s Christmas Card Challenge really pushed me to get creative! I wanted to see if I could combine two completely different themes into one cohesive design — and I love how it turned out.

#ACardADayInNovember2025Nativity Night – peaceful starry sky, manger scene, or “O Holy Night”
🧦 #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallengeStocking SurpriseHanging stockings or hidden treats.

I’ve been wanting to create a window card using the Arch Dies, and this felt like the perfect opportunity. My goal was to design a card that tells a story — looking out the window, you see a peaceful nativity scene, while inside there’s a warm, cozy holiday setting complete with stockings hung and ready for Christmas morning.

This project reminded me how much I love finding ways to blend techniques and themes. Sometimes the best ideas come when you push yourself just a little outside your comfort zone. 💖

✨ Supplies & Details

This card took a little extra creativity — and a lot of wonderful products! I loved mixing and matching textures, colors, and dies to bring this cozy Christmas window scene to life. Here are the main supplies I used:

🪞 Dies & Embellishments:

🖌️ Tools & Coloring:

🎨 Ink Colors:

  • Balmy Blue
  • Early Espresso
  • Old Olive
  • Mossy Meadow

I loved how these products worked together to create depth, warmth, and sparkle — from the soft shimmer of the glimmer paper and ribbon to the textured brick background and peaceful glow behind the window.

Easy Winter Craft: Faux Buffalo Check Cards

Nothing says cozy winter crafting like a Buffalo Check background! ❄️
This week’s Make It With Me Monday was all about creating a faux Buffalo Check look using simple supplies and a few easy steps. I made this fun card for the Christmas Card Challenges — and I absolutely love how the faux Buffalo Check background turned out. It’s the perfect background technique for all your winter projects— warm, rustic, and so fun to make!! 🖤❤️

To create your own faux Buffalo Check background, you’ll need:

  • 🟥 A piece of red or white cardstock
  • ⬛ A black ink pad
  • 🖌️ A blending brush
  • 📄 Masking paper
  • ✨ Your favorite stamps and embellishments

I used the Weekend Adventure stamp set to finish my project — it pairs perfectly with this pattern for a fun, outdoorsy feel.

Think cozy cocoa mugs, snuggly sweaters, cute mittens, and classic Buffalo Check patterns — the perfect ingredients for a warm holiday vibe. ❤️💚

☕ This or That: Whipped Cream or Marshmallows?

Since this card has such a cozy winter vibe, I had to ask… what’s your favorite topping for a warm cup of cocoa? Tell me in the comments — Team Whipped Cream or Team Marshmallows? ☕️🍫

Watch the Replay Here:

🎨 Why I Love This Technique

What makes this background so special? It’s easy, adaptable, and looks like patterned paper — without ever having to cut into your DSP stash! You can switch up the colors, change the ink intensity, or even try it in non-traditional combos for Valentine’s or spring cards.

💌 Additional Samples

I couldn’t stop at just one! Here are a few extra samples I created using this same technique. Each card shows just how versatile this background can be — from rustic holiday designs to cozy winter greetings.
