Freewheeling Friday 2-13-09

Today was Friday the 13th, but for me it’s usually a good day. Once again that proved to be true. Today I was able to go to the shoebox swap that my up-line Brandi was having. I love it when I can get together with other demonstrators and Stamp. It’s so much fun to visit and get new ideas.

This was one of the 19 cards we got to make. I loved how we used the roller on the flower from the pretties kit. What fun. I also love all the texture in the card. (Texture plates on card-stock and textured DSP.) I think the project was created by Becky.

Wacky Wednesday 2-11-09

So today was club and I decided to make each member a cute little Valentine. The projects we were making would take a bit of time so this time I made this little gift for each of them before hand. I hope the know how much I appreciate each of them.

This is a sample that we made for one of my parties. They loved it. The heart is made using the Big Shot Petal Card and folding up the two bottom ones to make a pocket. I saw this idea at leadership and loved it.

Marvelous Monday 1-26-09

We always get to do a fun make and take at leadership. This year I really loved what we got to make because it all coordinated together. It is part of our retro fresh style watch. It uses the fun new stamp set Good Friend #113740 $28.95. It also uses the On board So Tweet #113893 $14.95 and the DSP Good Morning Sunshine #113966 $9.95.

We made a fun box that slides out and holds these great mini tags.

Plus we made 3 fun cards. They are 5 1/4 square cards that fit in our square envelops. I love this great big size.

Everything fits nicely in the fun carrying case. Arent’ the birds just so cute.

I’m considering offering this as a class. I haven’t decided on a date yet, but if you are interested please let me know and I will get one figured out. The class would include everything you need to make all three projects plus you would get all the extras. You would get 1/2 of the designers series paper and 1/2 of the chipboard. I would also include the stamp set. This class could easily be done at home as well and I would include full color instructions. The cost would be $55.00 (including the stamp set). Stamping Sunday 1-25-09

I had a meeting on Saturday and I was asked to demonstrate and new technique. She explained it to me over the phone and sent me a few pictures then I had to figure it out. This technique was so easy and I loved it. I also love that it looks really complicated. I debated on which category to post my samples in. I finally decided on Stamping Sunday because I think I’m going to use this fun technique for club. The technique is called faux leather so I started to think of what kinds of things I could do that would have a leathered look. My first thought was an alligator. So I started playing with punches and came up with this fun alligator. Then the page just developed from that. All the letters are also done with this great technique and then I cut them out using the big shot serif alphabet #113464 $149.95. I really love how the page turned out. I can’t wait to put some of our pictures on it from Animal Kingdom. I used the Wild About You set #115110 $25.95. The paper is #112164 Chocolate Chip Patterns DSP $9.95 and #112160 Old Olive Patterns DSP $9.95.

The project that was shown to me was a purse so this is what I came up with. Once again I used the big shot and this time I used the top note die #113463 $21.95. The basic purse is made with 2 dies and the top is done with the faux leather and then folded over. I used the awesome Filigree Designer Brads #112577 $5.95 to dress it up a bit and give it the girly girl look. Underneath the brad is a piece of Velcro so it’s easy to open. I stamped on it with Doodle This #114954 $33.95 and used Tombow Glue #110755 $3.95 to apply Dazzling Diamonds glitter #102023 $4.50 to give it a little sparkle. The butterfly is from the set Dreams du Jour #111624 $18.95. It’s wings are also touched with glitter. I filled a cellophane bag with chocolates so it makes a great gift for any girl.

Thrifty Thursday 1-8-09

This is the Birthday card that I made for our Stampin’ Up! Birthday Celebration. I decided to use it for Thrifty Thursday because it is so easy to make and the style allows you to use all the paper in the DSP pack.

I have used the Rainbow Sherbet #112471. Not only does this paper sound yummy, but it is just so cute. This card is very versital and can be used for either a boy or a girl.

The basic card is made with Apricot Appeal. Then I used Gable Green behind the DSP. I used Tempting Turquoise for the scallop and the 1/4″ ribbon then top off the ribbon with Apricot Appeal 1 /4″ grosgrain ribbon.

My Scallop is actually a special embosslit die that said 20 years. It is to celebrate Stampin’ Up! 20 years in business this year. However you could use the scallop circle punch. I covered it with a tag from the deer friends hostess set and punched it out with our 1 3/8 circle punch to create a beautiful layered look. I didn’t want the tag to be stamped in just one color so I use our Stampin’ Markers to color directly onto the Stamp.

I finished the card by stamping happy birthday for the Bitty Birthday set #110994 for $12.95. Because the tag just says a little something you could leave off the Birthday stamp or stamp it with a variety of other stamps for almost any occasion.

So between the versatile saying and being able to use all the designer series paper on just one card lay out I think this card is very thrifty
