Marvelous Monday 2-2-09

mojo72sketchI  saw a couple of different blogs that had a layout called Mojo Monday.  Some of you may be aware of it but it was new to me and I loved it.  The person who started it decided that Monday’s were blah days so she needed something to get her Mojo going.  Each Monday she posts a new design layout.  I thought this was a great layout resource.  She even shows samples of how it can be used and she has a monthly contest.  I encourage you to check it out especially when you need some inspiration.  Her website is www.mojomonday.blogspot.com.

Marvelous Monday 1-26-09

We always get to do a fun make and take at leadership.  This year I really loved what we got to make because it all coordinated together.  It is part of our retro fresh style watch.  It uses the fun new stamp set Good Friend #113740 $28.95.  It also uses the On board So Tweet #113893 $14.95 and the DSP Good Morning Sunshine #113966 $9.95.

good-friend-cardsPlus we made 3 fun cards.  They are 5 1/4 square cards that fit in our square envelops.  I love this great big size. 

good-friend-box1Everything fits nicely in the fun carrying case.  Arent’ the birds just so cute.

I’m considering offering this as a class.  I haven’t decided on a date yet, but if you are interested please let me know and I will get one figured out.  The class would include everything you need to make all three projects plus you would get all the extras.  You would get 1/2 of the designers series paper and 1/2 of the chipboard.  I would also include the stamp set.  This class could easily be done at home as well and I would include full color instructions.  The cost would be $55.00 (including the stamp set).  Please email me at andersoncandice@hotmail.com if you are interested.

Marvelous Monday 1-19-09

cherishThis great page was done by my up-line Janice Barlow a couple of years ago for Convention.  I have always loved this page.  I just think the colors are beautiful together.  She colored the pretties flowers by putting them in a solution of ink refills and water I think.

Marvelous Monday 1-12-09

I know we have lots of great new Valentines sets and projects but I thought I’d pull one out from last year.  This set is on the dormant list now, but I think you will probably find it in the new catalog.  Either way I know it’s not being retired so I thought I’d show it off.  Maybe I’ll try and add some more samples using the great big shot top note die and the mini catalog sets.

heart-day-ribbon-edgeThis is another Marvelous Marker technique.  This technique is great because it allows you to get more versatile colors with just a white roll of ribbon.  It’s actually really easy all you need is your white ribbon, your stampin’ write marker and scratch piece of paper.

To color the edge of the ribbon simple drag the brush edge of the marker along the edge.  Don’t worry if you go off the edge a little bit because once you tie it you really don’t notice.  I had fun with this technique and used it as just an accent.  You can also see it on my Celebrate page for the Freewheeling Friday Post on January 2nd.

So give it a try and see what you can come up with.

Marvelous Monday 1-5-09

This was a page swap from Convention last year.  It was made by my up-line Janice Barlow.  I wish you could see it in person because the picture really doesn’t give it justice.  She used the Card-stock Vellum to create the Sea Shells.  She stamped on it then dry embossed it and colored it on the back side I belive.  Either way it’s a really cool look and technique. 

beach-day-pagesI think this set is on the dormant list.  It’s called Seaside #110990 for $23.95.  I don’t think it’s retiring.  The words are schoolbook serife alphabet set #111121 for $40.95.
