Gifts – Page 4 – Stampin' With Candice

Freewheeling Friday 1-30-09

I love to make gifts when ever I have a chance. I also love to make the package for them. I usually keep the supplies on hand so I can make one really fast. I’ve used them a lot for Weddings, Showers and Baby Gifts.

This is a sample of the box I made to put the gift in. I love the wheels because it is so fast to decorate the box and they look really cute. I used. 109688 Whimsy Jumbo Wheel $8.50 for this box. Then I just used a piece of paper from the Simply Scrapin’ Kit that I created the gift with. You could use any Simply Scrapin’ Kit or DSP. The one pictured here is an old one that is retired now.

The box is so easy to make. Just decide on your size and depth then score the sides to fit. Cut in on the score on just one side all the way around then fold and attach with mini glue dots or sticky strip. I always make the top box 1/16 bigger so they slide together nicely. Then the box is just finished with a belly band that slides off to open the gift.

This is the gift that I made to put in the box. It is using the same Simply Scrapin’ Kit. I’ve just cut it to fit on one of our on board book basics Large#110713 $7.95 for 4. I love this gift because it is so easy to create and you can change it for about any occasion. The picture part is sized perfectly for a 4×6 photo. Then you just put it on a plate rack holder and it’s a darling picture frame with lots of character.

Wacky Wednesday 1-28-09

Thanks so much to all of you who made it to my open house. I had a great time and I hope you did too. For those of you who couldn’t make it here is some of the fun you missed. Maybe next time you will be able to join in the fun.

Because it was and open house and there was no official hostess to give a gift to and my prize drawing was for the hostess benefits I decided to give each guest a special gift for coming. Each guest received one of these fun Good friend boxes and each was filled with a different surprise gift. Once again I used the new Good Friends Stamp Set #113740 $28.95 and the fun new Petal Pizzazz #113417 $32.95.

Then each guest had the opportunity to create 2 fun make and takes. The first used the set Just Buzzin’ By #113228 $27.95. This is one of my favorite new stamp sets. We made a card and a matching envelope. It’s hard to see but the card says “just buzzin’ by to say…” Then on the inside it says “have a honey of a day! We also stamped a cute flower on the inside.

The second project used the wonderful big shot top not die #113463 $21.95 and some of the products from the Love you Much Bundle #115405 $41.48. We used the heart to Heart Punch #113694 $15.95 and the Love You Much Stamp Set #113756 $25.95. The Bundle also includes the Candy Lane DSP#113980 $9.95 which I love so much that I didn’t have enough left to use. If you bought these products separately they would be $51.85 but you can save 20% on the bundle for just $41.48 through the end of Januray. Hurry fast time is running out.

Marvelous Monday 1-26-09

We always get to do a fun make and take at leadership. This year I really loved what we got to make because it all coordinated together. It is part of our retro fresh style watch. It uses the fun new stamp set Good Friend #113740 $28.95. It also uses the On board So Tweet #113893 $14.95 and the DSP Good Morning Sunshine #113966 $9.95.

We made a fun box that slides out and holds these great mini tags.

Plus we made 3 fun cards. They are 5 1/4 square cards that fit in our square envelops. I love this great big size.

Everything fits nicely in the fun carrying case. Arent’ the birds just so cute.

I’m considering offering this as a class. I haven’t decided on a date yet, but if you are interested please let me know and I will get one figured out. The class would include everything you need to make all three projects plus you would get all the extras. You would get 1/2 of the designers series paper and 1/2 of the chipboard. I would also include the stamp set. This class could easily be done at home as well and I would include full color instructions. The cost would be $55.00 (including the stamp set). New Catalog Open House

Marvelous Monday 1-12-09

I know we have lots of great new Valentines sets and projects but I thought I’d pull one out from last year. This set is on the dormant list now, but I think you will probably find it in the new catalog. Either way I know it’s not being retired so I thought I’d show it off. Maybe I’ll try and add some more samples using the great big shot top note die and the mini catalog sets.

This is another Marvelous Marker technique. This technique is great because it allows you to get more versatile colors with just a white roll of ribbon. It’s actually really easy all you need is your white ribbon, your stampin’ write marker and scratch piece of paper.

To color the edge of the ribbon simple drag the brush edge of the marker along the edge. Don’t worry if you go off the edge a little bit because once you tie it you really don’t notice. I had fun with this technique and used it as just an accent. You can also see it on my Celebrate page for the Freewheeling Friday Post on January 2nd.

So give it a try and see what you can come up with.

Wacky Wednesday 12-31-08

This is the fun Christmas Topper that I made. I made one for each of my down-line and filled the bags with goodies for their business. I thought they were cute and really easy.

I used the snow swirled set with the Big Shot Snowflakes. The bag is actually a larger one than Stampin’ Up! sells because I wanted to put 8 1/2 x 11 paper in them. The top is made with a 1/2 a sheet of 12×12 paper and scored 4″ down. Then I cut a slit in the top for the handle so that I would just slip the topper over the bag after it was filled.

If you ever need a quick gift idea try a topper they are so easy and so cute.
