❄️ Day 2 – Two Challenges, One Design!

Don’t you just love it when a single layout and stamp set can do double (or even triple!) duty? Today’s projects prove just how versatile our crafting supplies can be!

For Day 2 of my Christmas card challenges, I reached for the Jar of Joy stamp set and punch to create two different cards using the same layout design. With just a few tweaks to color and embellishments, I was able to make each card fit its challenge theme perfectly—and they both turned out so fun and festive!

Here’s what I took on today:
#ACardADayInNovemberDay 2: Winter Wonderland
🍭 #30DayChristmasCardMakingChallengeDay 2: Candy Cottage

I combined both designs with a layout inspired by the Holiday Catalog, and I’m loving how they capture two completely different holiday vibes while using the same creative foundation. One card feels frosty and elegant, while the other is sweet and whimsical—proof that one good layout can spark endless possibilities!

If you’re following along with these challenges, try using the same layout or stamp set for multiple prompts this week. It’s a fun way to stretch your creativity and make the most of your supplies.

I love to have new ornaments for my tree, but I can’t always afford to by them.  I actually love to make them.  I made these fun Rudolph Ornaments for my tree last year.  They were quick and easy and didn’t cost a lot to make.  roudolph-ornament

It is made with all punches.  I used: large oval, word window, five petal flower, horizontal slot, double circle and  1″ circle.  I used the coluzzle for the background circle.  His nose is made with a rhinestone circle brad.  Then a little ribbon for the holder and a bow at the neck.  I got the idea from a card that someone had posted on the Stampin’ Up! demonstrator web site last year.  They had it on a card.  If I can find my card I will post it for you as well.

Rolling with the Punches

This is the technique my club member learned last week.  You will be able to see more samples in the club page.  I got this technique from Laura Fredrickson you can see her complete tutorial by clicking here.  I had a lot of fun with and thought it was a great technique.  I actually found it months ago and have been waiting for Christmas to show it.  The basic technique is to use your punches to make a template then roll your wheel over the template so you only get part of your images.    Then you can trace around them or use sponge daubers to fill them in.  If you want to see the step by step instructions you can check out Laura’s site.  Here is just one of the fun cards we made.  Be sure to check out the other card and Scrapbook pages under clubs.dec-card-1-moose
