Stampin’ Sunday 3-15-09

good-friend-book-front-copyI made this fun book Sunday Morning.  It only took me about an hour and that includes creating it.  I was asked to create a paper bag book for a class at church.  I really had fun creating this book.  I had never created a paper bag book before so this was really fun.

gfb-pullouts-copyI love that I could have fun pull outs to go with it.  I chose the good friend stamp set so that it could be versatile and you could put just about anything with it.

gfb-pg-5-6-copyThe book has a total of 10 pages plus 3 pullouts that are front and back.  I had fun using the in-colors and the good morning sunshine paper.  Here is a sample of just one of the page sections.

Since this was already planned for a class and features just one stamp set I am offering it as a project kit or a group class.  You will find a list below of everything that is included as well as everything you will need to complete it.  You can order this kit to make at home or get a group together and I will come to you.  The price for the kit is $10.00.  If you have at least 15 kits you will also get hostess benefits and I will give you your kit for free.  The stamp set is roughly $33.75 with tax and shipping.  Buy it with your kit for an even $30.00.  Please contact me by email (andersoncandice@hotmail.com) or phone (435-245-5321) if you are interested.

Thrifty Thursday 3-12-09

We really had fun at club last night doing these great projects using the Circle Cutter.  I decided that it was a good one for Thrifty Thursday because the circle cutter can really save you a lot of money.  I cuts circles from I think one inch up to 6″ and anywhere in-between.  I also love that it cuts rings.  I have seen fun papers made with circles and I love that now I can create my own in any color combination that I want.  I also love the texture that it adds.

march-09-club-pagesNow I will be honest the circle cutter does take a little practice as they quickly found out at club.  However once you get it down I think you will love it as much as I do.  It is so smooth and fast.  I’ve really enjoyed playing with it and I’m sure I will enjoy it for many years to come.  Right now is the perfect time to get this great product because when you by the cutter and the mat plus replacement blades it puts you over $50.00 so you can get a sale-a-bration set.  This item has been on back order so you may not be able to order it on-line, however you can place an order through me.  Be sure to get your orders in early as I leave on the 20th and won’t be back until the 30th.

congrats-march-club-1I really love how I could use the punches to work with the circle cutter.  On this card I punched out the Congratulations (from the new spring mini).  I also punched the Chocolate Chip and Old Olive back ground papers.  Then I used the circle cutter for the larger Cameo Coral circle.

We also focused on texture on the projects.  The Old Olive papers are all textured card-stock.  On many of the Chocolate Chip papers we ran them through the big shot using the circle texture plates.  It’s hard to see but it really adds to the pages and card.

Thrifty Thursday 3-5-09

Here’s a blast from the past.  This was the first Scrapbook page I made as a Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator.  I used one of our Simply Scrapin’®Kits.  I don’t think there is anything (besides paper and inks) that is still available.

campI really love the Simply Scrapin’ Kitsbecause they make scrapbooking fast and easy.  They come with the stickers, DSP and Cardstock add a few stamps and accessories and you are good to go.

This page really works for Thrifty Thursday because it uses the Stampin’ Pastels® to achieve all the great colors.  The chalks are a very economical way to get our wonderful colors.  This is a simple technique called poppin’ pastels.  It’s actually really easy.  All you do is stamp your image using the VersaMark® ink and the apply the chalk.  The best way to apply the chalk is with our wonderful sponge daubers.

If you’ve never tried this technique before I encourage you to give it a try.  If it’s been a while then it’s a great time to remember it.  Here is a list of supplies you will need:
 105542 Stampn’ Pastels $24.95
102283 VersaMark Pad $7.50
102892 Sponge Daubers (12) $10.95
Stamp Set of your Choice (Bold sets work the best)

Wacky Wednesday 2-18-09

So this is a little different for the Wacky Wednesday.  However I think it qualifies because I was a little wacky in not mentioning it sooner.  If you haven’t heard already then you will love this news.  At leadership Stampin’ Up!© announced that later this year (we don’t know when) they will be releasing a digital scrapbooking program.  Now for those you like me who love traditional scrapbooking this may not be a big deal.  For those of you who are already using digital scrapbooking (or want to) you may be wondering why you would want ours.  So let me tell you five of the reasons I’m so excited about this new product:

ds-kona1- I think the bigest thing as that it’s Stampin’ Up!  This means that it will have all of Stampin’ Up! exclusive colors as well as punches, designs and accessories.  That to me is just awesome.

ds-dear-lizzie-page2- Next is they talked about printing companies.   They will offer places that you can get your pages printed in true color and in 12×12.

ds-dear-lizzie-hybrid3- Hybrid Scrapbooking.  For those of you who don’t know what that is let me explain.  This is were you combine some of the awesome digital effects of digital scrabooking with the wonderful dimensional effects of traditional.  For example.  Using the digital scrapbook to enhance your picture and add some journaling.  Maybe even print it out on a 8×8 page.  Then add it to a 12×12 page along with some embellishments like chipboard and brads to give your project a real wow.  This is what I am so excited about.

ds-happiness-is4- Layout idea.  Have you ever wondered what something would look like and tried to picture it in your head, but it didn’t quite come out that way on paper.  I think this program would be great just to help me plan my pages.  I could figure out what size I want to print my pictures and how I want it to look.   Then I can recreate it with all the fun Stampin’ Up! products.  Plus they told us they would have some templates to start with so it’s a great way to get new ideas or start and idea.

5- If you are like me you probably have way more pictures that you can handle when it comes to scrapbooking.  I usually scrapbook my favorites and then the rest are just put in picture sheet protectors or worse just shoved in a box somewhere.  However  lot of them are really great pictures.  I love the idea of scrabooking my favorites and then putting the rest in to a few digital scrapbook pages that match.  This way you still get to see them in a cute fun way, but it saves me the time of scrapbooking them all.

I’m really excited about this new product and hope you are too.  I will keep you posted when I know more information.  For now make a note and put it on your wish list, because weather you are traditional or digital this is definitely something you will want for your collection.
