Wacky Wednesday 2-18-09

So this is a little different for the Wacky Wednesday.  However I think it qualifies because I was a little wacky in not mentioning it sooner.  If you haven’t heard already then you will love this news.  At leadership Stampin’ Up!© announced that later this year (we don’t know when) they will be releasing a digital scrapbooking program.  Now for those you like me who love traditional scrapbooking this may not be a big deal.  For those of you who are already using digital scrapbooking (or want to) you may be wondering why you would want ours.  So let me tell you five of the reasons I’m so excited about this new product:

ds-kona1- I think the bigest thing as that it’s Stampin’ Up!  This means that it will have all of Stampin’ Up! exclusive colors as well as punches, designs and accessories.  That to me is just awesome.

ds-dear-lizzie-page2- Next is they talked about printing companies.   They will offer places that you can get your pages printed in true color and in 12×12.

ds-dear-lizzie-hybrid3- Hybrid Scrapbooking.  For those of you who don’t know what that is let me explain.  This is were you combine some of the awesome digital effects of digital scrabooking with the wonderful dimensional effects of traditional.  For example.  Using the digital scrapbook to enhance your picture and add some journaling.  Maybe even print it out on a 8×8 page.  Then add it to a 12×12 page along with some embellishments like chipboard and brads to give your project a real wow.  This is what I am so excited about.

ds-happiness-is4- Layout idea.  Have you ever wondered what something would look like and tried to picture it in your head, but it didn’t quite come out that way on paper.  I think this program would be great just to help me plan my pages.  I could figure out what size I want to print my pictures and how I want it to look.   Then I can recreate it with all the fun Stampin’ Up! products.  Plus they told us they would have some templates to start with so it’s a great way to get new ideas or start and idea.

5- If you are like me you probably have way more pictures that you can handle when it comes to scrapbooking.  I usually scrapbook my favorites and then the rest are just put in picture sheet protectors or worse just shoved in a box somewhere.  However  lot of them are really great pictures.  I love the idea of scrabooking my favorites and then putting the rest in to a few digital scrapbook pages that match.  This way you still get to see them in a cute fun way, but it saves me the time of scrapbooking them all.

I’m really excited about this new product and hope you are too.  I will keep you posted when I know more information.  For now make a note and put it on your wish list, because weather you are traditional or digital this is definitely something you will want for your collection.

Technique Tuesday 2-17-09

Today I thought I would share with you a cute project that we did at a recent workshop.  It you would be interested in doing this fun project at your own workshop give me a call 435-245-5321.

This is a simple technique but I love it.  It’s simply looking at a card or scrapbook page and using the layout for the opposite.  That means use a scrapbook page layout for a card or a card layout for a scrapbook page.  I really love it when I can use the same layout for both.

sab-friendshipHere is my example.  I used the exact same supplies and lay out to create this fun 3×6 card.

sab-friendship1Then I did it as a 6×6 scrapbook page.  By moving the stamped image and adding the photo it give it a whole new look.

I really love this concept for a gift because you can make the cute page and them make a matching card.

This is a picture of me with my friend Deborah.  She is one of the demonstrators I met at Leadership last year.  This picture was taken at Convention when we both earned Hawaii.  One of the best parts of becoming a demonstrator has been the friends I’ve made.  Weather they are in my down-line or just our group it so awesome because I never would have met them if it weren’t for Stampin’ Up!®  If you want to find out more about the benefits of becoming a demonstrator click here.

Marvelous Monday 2-16-09

Recently I was able to preview the new Spring Mini Catalog (just one of the many perks of becoming a demonstrator.  Can I just say “So cute”  I can’t wait.  Be watching for a Sneak peek and pre-order items for customers starting March 1st.  Anyway I was looking back through some old projects and remember this scrapbook page that I entered into a contest last year.  Although the paper and many of the accessories are now retired (it was last years spring mini) I thought the idea would inspire you and remind you that our mini catalog items are for a limited time only so start planning today.  April and May are great times to have a Stampin’ Up!® party.

field-trip-pg-1This was my son Mikey on his Kindergarten field trip. I just love how the chipboard elements add depth to the page.  These pages used last year’s In-Colors.  Remember the current In-Colors are only available until the end of June.  Stock up now to make sure you get your favorites.

field-trip-pg-2I really love this page.  The big pictue was my favorite.  I loved that I was able to print the pictuers to just the right size with my pictue printer (HP Photosmart D7360)  I love it.

Stampin’ Sunday 2-15-09

The Scrapbookers got to make this cute 12 x 12 double page layout.  I got the idea form page 4 of the sale-a-bration catalog.  I love that the paper, Polka Dot Punches stamp set and the ribbon all work together.

Swapping Saturday 1-31-09

This was a 6×6 page swap that I did for convention last year.  I really loved how it turned out.  I think the same basic layout could be used on a 12 x 12 page.  I will have to give it a try.  The Flower in the corner is just the large flower cut out and then folded back and under.  I saw it somewhere and thought it looked really cool.
