Blast Off Cards

I really wanted to make a fun boy Birthday card so I decided to use the blast off set which I just think is so perfect for little boys. Now the funny part is I started grabbing colors that I thought would look good together and I really wanted to use some of the gold paper since it’s so popular right now so I wanted to make sure the colors I picked would look good with it. I knew I wanted a green alien so I thought the red and blue would look great.

I started by stamping my ship and cutting it out. I was trying to decide how I wanted to arrange items on my card and I went to the main catalog to get some inspiration. Come to find out I had picked the same colors just for different items. I decided to make my card similar to theirs. The space ship is popped up with dimensionals and I put in some of our window sheets to give the appearance of glass.

I was so inspired from making this card that I had another fun idea that I wanted to try. Years ago I made a fun card that had a pull out bookmark. The minute I saw the new tag punches in the occasions catalog I knew it would be perfect to create a bookmark. So here’s the card withe the bookmark in the holder. The bottom section is applied with dimensionals to I could easily pull the book mark in and out.

I love the 10-9-8 Blast off saying for the front I think it just works perfect for pulling out the bookmark. As you can see once you pull the bookmark out it has the Happy Birthday saying. How cute would this card be with a child’s favorite book for their birthday. Be watching I may just add this cute card to my Februrary Stampin’ Buffet or Club.

Love Cards

Here’s yet another card that was inspired by Pinterest. I saw this card and thought I think I can create that using Stampin’ Up! products. So here’s a link to the original card and of course here’s mine. Tell me what you think.

Yes I know I used the retired expressions Framelit again. Sorry I just love this die and can’t let it go. I hope Stampin’ Up! considers adding it to the main catalog. Just a note I hand drew the U and cut it out since I didn’t have anything that would make that shape U.

I also loved the reverse impression that you get when you cut out the Framelit so I decided to start playing with it a bit and see what I could come up with for a card using it. Here’s my design. Tell me what you think. I personally love both of them.

Gold Love Card

I’ve noticed that Gold is really popular right now in terms of paper crafting so I wanted to give it a try and see what I could come up with. I also love the new Photo-polymer sets and wanted to try them out some too.

So this card is pretty simple, but I like how it turned out. I used the gold encore pad with the gold embossing powder to really make the gold sparkle. I also used the gold pad to ink the baker’s twin. I think the new gold baker’s twin in the occasions catalog would look awesome, but I didn’t have any to give it a try. I did however have the gold paper that I used for the hearts and the background.

Chevron Punch Birthday Card

I saw this card on Pinterest and knew I just had to create it. Such a cute card and so simple. I love that it would be so easy to change out and use different DSP and colors to make lots of cards. The orgional card was created by Swanlady Impressions.

What you can’t see very well is the dimension in the card. There is a white layer on top of the white card base that is punched with the chevron board punch. The Designer Series Paper is glued to the white card base and the second white paper that is cut is attached with dimensionals to give it some fun depth. I finished it off with just a few rhinestones. The Happy Birthday is also attached with dimensionals. You can come and make this fun card at my February Stampin’ Buffet.

Love Banner Card

When I saw the Banner Framelits Dies in the occasions catalog I knew I had to have them. I was so excited to create with them and I absolutely love them. I took the idea for this card right out of the catalog. Can you guess what page it came from? I know the love is now retired hopefully some of you had the chance to get it before it was gone. I know I’m glad I did.

So even though it’s retired I still wanted to use this fun card in my Stampin’ Buffet this month. In fact I’ve decided that I might add one card each month using some of my retired stamps or dies just so that we have a chance to use some of these fun products and of course the only way to make them would be to come to my fun event. Which you’ll want to anyone just because there’s so many cute projects to make. So be watching for some of my blast from the past cards that will be featured and my monthly Stampin Buffet and maybe other events.

Oh, Hello Simple Card

I really love how simple this card is. I believe I got the idea from a card in our Demonstrator Magazine “Stampin’ Success.” This is a bi-monthly magazine that we get as Demonstrators packed full of ideas, techniques and training. Just another great benefit of being a demonstrator.

This card features the fun square framelits, a quick easy way to make a frame. I absolutely loved this idea when I first saw it in the annual catalog. This card is simple. It’s finished of with new washi tape from the occasions catalog and just a touch of in-color ribbon.
