Stampin’ Sunday 3-15-09

I made this fun book Sunday Morning. It only took me about an hour and that includes creating it. I was asked to create a paper bag book for a class at church. I really had fun creating this book. I had never created a paper bag book before so this was really fun.

I love that I could have fun pull outs to go with it. I chose the good friend stamp set so that it could be versatile and you could put just about anything with it.

The book has a total of 10 pages plus 3 pullouts that are front and back. I had fun using the in-colors and the good morning sunshine paper. Here is a sample of just one of the page sections.

Since this was already planned for a class and features just one stamp set I am offering it as a project kit or a group class. You will find a list below of everything that is included as well as everything you will need to complete it. You can order this kit to make at home or get a group together and I will come to you. Marvelous Monday 3-9-09

My Sister and I had a Game Night Friday night. She sales Simply Fun which fun family games. We thought it would be fun to use the new game night stamps and have a combo party. I wanted to create a fun project that would go along with the theme. I found this folder created by Wendy Knowles in our awesome group. I decided to give it a try. Her project was all covered with the DSP, but I didn’t have enough so I decided to try it with paper that I stamped on. She covered a file folder.

I found that this was a little more difficult with the solid paper verses the DSP and it was hard to fold and not have it bubble. I still think that it turned out cute, but was more time consuming than I wanted for the party so I decided I needed to simplify.

This is the project I came up with. It is really quite fast and easy. It’s just one sheet of 8 1/2 x 11 paper folded around the note pad. Then I added the DSP and some stamped paper. I still added the cute black strip in the front like she had. I used a crimped paper inbetween to give it a little more texture. I decided I didn’t want to tie the bow everytime we used it so I put the stampin’ demimentionals on the bottom part of the black tag only so I could slide the ribbon off the top.

Inside Wendy had attached the notebook with sticky strip but I wanted to be able to replace it with out tearing my book so I decided to put a strip of DSP all the way across. I only glued it down on one side. Where the note book is I placed it in-between the card board back and the last sheet of paper. Then I put sticky strip on each side of it. This way I cold slip the note book out and put a new one in.

We love to play games with my family and I really loved having a way to keep score. There is a little ribbon loop on the front that you can keep a pencil in. This way we can keep this with all the games and then when we want to play we don’t have to find a notebook a paper. Sometimes it’s also fun to see who won last time so it’s nice to have it all in one place.

Thrifty Thursday 3-5-09

Here’s a blast from the past. This was the first Scrapbook page I made as a Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrator. I used one of our Simply Scrapin’®Kits. I don’t think there is anything (besides paper and inks) that is still available.

I really love the Simply Scrapin’ Kitsbecause they make scrapbooking fast and easy. They come with the stickers, DSP and Cardstock add a few stamps and accessories and you are good to go.

This page really works for Thrifty Thursday because it uses the Stampin’ Pastels® to achieve all the great colors. The chalks are a very economical way to get our wonderful colors. This is a simple technique called poppin’ pastels. It’s actually really easy. All you do is stamp your image using the VersaMark® ink and the apply the chalk. The best way to apply the chalk is with our wonderful sponge daubers.

If you’ve never tried this technique before I encourage you to give it a try. If it’s been a while then it’s a great time to remember it. Here is a list of supplies you will need:

Wacky Wednesday 3-4-09

I like Wacky Wednesday because it gives me a chance to share some other fun stuff. I received this in the mail and I was so excited to get it. I love that Stampin’ Up! sends our travel documents in such a fun packaging. I’m so excited to leave for Hawaii next week. My kids are so sad that they are not going with us.

Isn’t this bag so cute. I love the luggage tags. I can’t wait to see what other fun surprises they have in store for us when we get there. The hotel we are staying in is so nice. If you want to see how Stampin’ Up! spoils us you can check out the hotel at www.HiltonWaikoloaVillage.com. This place is 62 acres and has canal boats and swiss made trams to get around it. How cool is that. There is even a Dolphin Learning Center where you can swim with the dolphins (I wish that was paid for). I will definitely be sharing pictures and more fun info when I get back.
