Dragonfly Garden Stamp Set

For these cards I challenged myself to create simple cards using only stamps and inks. Stampin’ Up! refers to this a simple stamping. I thought this stamp set worked perfect for this type of project. I actually struggle not to add ribbon or embellishments to a project. One of the nice parts about these cards are not only are they inexpensive and fast to create they are totally flat so you don’t have to pay extra to mail them out. Sending a card in the mail has become somewhat of a lost art. I’ll say I’ve even slacked at it, but I love getting in the mail and need to remember others do too.

I used the blending brushes to add a pop of color to the monochromatic design. Have you tried the blending brushes yet? The more I use them the more I love them. Originally I thought that you could get all the ink out of them and while that is true to an extent I have found that it doesn’t completely go away so I try to use a different brush for color families. I would love to have a brush for each color – but like many of you that’s not economically something I can afford. Besides that there are some any other products I want. One thing I have liked is that we now have the small blending brushes. I actually prefer these ones. You can find them in the current mini along with the storage for them; however, the best news is that they are carrying over to the main catalog.

Amazing Silhouettes Stamp Set

I was given this stamp set at a Stampin’ Up! event and I will be honest I wasn’t really sure what to do with it. Because it had three different images I challenged myself to create a different card using each image. I also wanted incorporate other retiring product and realized it was the perfect opportunity to highlight background stamps, embossing folders, dies and word stamps. I even used one of our online exclusive embossing folders. Recently Stampin’ Up! introduced new products that are only found online. Be sure to check them out on my website when you are ordering your favorite retired products. I’d love to hear your thoughts on these projects.

Paradise Palms Stamp Set

Today is the last day of Spring break yet for us here in Utah it has been more like winter break with record breaking snow fall. I’m craving a bit of the sun shine so I thought I’d share a beachy project today.

I created this card a while back when I was watching my friend Rose Coleman’s Facebook live. She was demonstrating a card for the Global Design Challenge #384. It was a challenge to case a design layout. I wanted to try the challenge myself and while I didn’t get it posted to be included in the challenge I was happy with the results. I used the blending brushes to created the background and the dies rather than the stamps for the shadows. You might be surprised to find out that the trees are actually cut out of basic grey card stock and then colored using the blending brushes. I wanted them to have different levels of darkness rather than them being all the same.

Flowers of Friendship Stamp Set

It’s funny because I actually created this card two years ago for a new catalog swap when the now retiring 2021-2023 In-colors where new. I wanted a card that showcased all the new in-colors and the new stamp set. I still love how this card turned out and my have to try this technique with the new colors when they arrive next week.

This card is relatively simple to create the trick is to attach your individual pieces and then stamp your image. The image is stamped in white craft in and embossed with white embossing powder. Once again this set along with in-colors are retiring. Remember to place your orders ASAP before your favorites are gone for good. Remember the hostess code is listed to the right.

  • 155560 – Scalloped Contours Dies (C)

Dual Embossing Techniques

Today I wanted to share a video where I show you how to create a similar card using two different types of embossing techniques. I’ve created the cards using a wet embossing technique called emboss resist and a dry embossing technique where the ink is applied to the embossing folder. What is cool about this technique is that I used the same process on both cards to get a different yet similar look. Which look is your favorite.

Curvy Snowman Card

I created this card to show case some of the products from the quite curvy bundle that is available now through January 4, 2021. The Quite Curvy Stamp Set and Curvy Dies will be in the Jan – Jun Mini catalog; however, if you want the Christmas stamp set that I’ve used or the paper you’ll want to make sure to get it before this promotion is over.

I’ve created a video with step by step instructions showing you how to use the dies to create your own card with this unique way of opening. I look forward to seeing what you come up with. Please feel free to share your creations in the comments or on my Facebook Page.

For your convenience I’ve created a PDF of all the products needed to create this project. I’ve also include the PDF with all the information about the Quite Curvy Bundles and promotion. Remember you can order them on my website at www.candiceanderson.stampinup.net.

In the video I said that I would create a card with the piece that I cut out of the pool party. I’ve use the designers series paper ( #155969 for $11.50) from the Quite Curvy Bundle to complete the card. I’ve also created alternate samples using the Warm and Toasty stamp set from the current Holiday catalog. I’d love to know your thoughts. Please share in the comments which stamp set you prefer the Snowman or Warm and Toasty.

Additional products used:

Warm and Toasty stamp set (#152615 for $22.00) from the current Holiday catalog
Snowman Builder Punch (#150643 for $18.00)
Snowflake Splendor 1/4″ Ribbon (153541 for $8.00) from the current Holiday catalog
Timeless Label Punch (#149516 for $18.00)
Wink of Stella Glitter Brush (#141897 for $8.00)
