Back from Convention

I’m back from Convention and so excited to share everything with you.  Convention was fabulous as usual.  Of course there were tons of great ideas.  I did my swaps again this year so I thought I would share them with you.  I was in charge of three different swaps this year: a fabric swap using the Big Shot, a 3D swap and a 12 x 12 Double Scrapbook Layout.  So far I have the fabric swaps up so you can check them out.  Just image how much fun you could have making these projects with your own Big Shot.  I’d love to show you how just give me a call, plus you can check out all these great projects in person.

To see the fun swaps just click here. You can also find them under Samples-Swaps-Convention 2010.  Check backs so to see the great Hostess Promotion as well as the other swaps I got.

Sew Fun Quilting Weekend

Thanks so much for everyone who helped me to earn the Sew Fun Quilting Weekend.  I had a blast and learned so much.  I would love to show all of you how to make these awesome quilts.  If you want to learn let  me know.

So here’s the first quilt.  It’s the one I made for my husband.  It’s made with 10 by 10 square and then I cut out the small squares with the Big Shot Scallop Square Die.  This is the same die I used to make the baby quilt and the rag bags.  I will post more pictures after I get it quilted.  When it’s done and you wash it then the ends come up and and frey a bit like the rag bags.

This is the second quilt that I made.  This one is for me.  As you can see I tied in several of the same patterns.  They are both green, brown and white and then I added the pink to mine and the blue to his.  Mine is made with the Scallop Circle Die and Scallop Circle #2 die.  This one is really pretty when it’s quilted because all the circles just pop.  It’s also really easy to make and not very much sewing.  I just sewed the outside boarders and then glued on all the scallop circles.  I also found out that there’s something in the chemical make-up of our glue that makes it so that it doesn’t gum up the needle for the quilters and then washes out.

I made both these quilts on Saturday at the event, that’s cut sew and glue plus time to visit and eat.  I think what took the longest was deciding which patterns to put where.  I also made a quilt Friday Night and a baby quilt on Sunday.  I will post those later.

If you want to see the fun projects in person, be sure to stop by my booth at the Hyrum Star Spangled week on July 5th.

More Fabric Fun – Want it free? Ask Me?

I’ve have fallen in love with my Big Shot again.  Who knew fabric could be so fun.  So I had to share a few more projects with you.

First is my Flip Flops.  I was in the fabric store the other day and was talking to a girl.  She told me she had seen these cute flip flops with flowers on them and thought how cute it would be to make them.  Of course I loved the idea and knew how easy it would be to make them so I headed straight home to make my own.  If you would like some of your own it’s so easy.  You can buy the Big Shot or if you want to have a party I’d be happy to come and make some for you.  The flowers are so fun, because you can also put them in your hair, add them to a purse or a skirt or anything else you can think of.

Speaking of purses.  I’ve been having so much fun making new purses.  Here’s my latest one.  I even put in pockets on this one.  I’ve had lots of people ask me how they can make their own so I thought I’d give you three great ways to get one.

First I’m going to be doing a class.

I haven’t decided on a date yet, I will figure that out after I know who wants to come.  But I’m thinking it will be sometime in July.  The class will be just $5.00 however there are a few requirements.  First space will be limited.  You will only be able to make one purse with two outside side pockets.  The purse will be the same size as the one shown here.  Plus you will need to bring your own material, batting and sewing machine.  I will help you with everything else.

Second you can get one for FREE by hosting a workshop.

Yes I said FREE.  I will be making at least one, maybe more depending on how many parties I get.  I’m down to the end for earning my cruise to Alaska and I need a little help.  So I will be giving one away to one of my hostesses.  All you need to do is contact me to schedule your in-home party and you will be entered to win.  Now here’s the extra bonus.  You will get an extra ticket to win with every $100.00 in sales at your party as well as a bonus 5 tickets if you have a $400.00 party.  If you have a $1000.00 party you will get one for FREE.  Remember the retired list comes out June first so this is  a great time to have a party and help your friends and family get what they want before they are gone.

Third join my team.

I have loved sharing this idea with my customers and want all of my down-line to have it.  If you sign up before the end of June I will help you make one of your own, all you need to do is provide the materials.  Sign up by May 26th and I will provide the material for you.  Of course the best part about this option is you will get all the great products to get your business started and be able to start making money yourself.  Plus you will have the time of your life doing something you love.  Click here to learn more about joining my team.

Calling all Quilters

OK so you must be thinking this is a papercrafting site why in the world is she calling for Quilters.  Well while I was at Leadership they showed us something that I just had to share.  Quilters have discovered that our Big Shot is perfect for cutting out designs to make beautiful quilts with.

I can’t sew a straight line if my life depended on it, but wow do I wish I could.  I was just in love with these beautiful quilts.  The great thing about the big shot is that it can cut through several layers of fabric at once so it saves time.  Plus it can cut out all the fun fancy stuff like curved edges that quilters usually cut by hand.

I’m really new to this stuff and just learning, but if you know of anyone that quilts and would like to save some time please tell them about this great product.  You could even host a party and receive all the great benefits for helping them out.

So here are some of the samples of the awesome stuff they had on display at Convention.  They also gave us each a quilt square and I have some more pictures I just have to find so I will post those later.  Enjoy!

Here’s a close up of the Star from above.  It uses the 5-point 3D star Die.  The one they gave us uses this same die to create a flower.  I would love this quilt for my son’s room or just a fun one for the family room.

This one uses the Pennant Die (a Stampin’ Up! exclusive.)  I think they fold the fabric in 1/2 before cutting for this one.

Here’s another one using the Pennant Die.

I believe the small circles in the center are the Scallops from the Pennant die.  you can also see them on the edges.

This is just a perfect baby blanket.

I love this one with the hearts.  I think it was done with the  Petal Card Die.

Another fun thing they have done is these flowers.  This one was done to clip on a bag.  IT uses the Flower Folds die (another Stampin’ Up! exclusive.)

Here are some more flowers.  I’ve seen them on bags, dresses and ever in little girls hair.  They also use the Scallop Circles and the Flower daisies #2 to create these I believe.

This pirate one is one if my favorites.  It uses the Stampin’  Up! exclusive Top Note Die.

I want this one for my mom so bad.  She loves patriotic stuff.

Once again the stars were created with the 5-point 3D star die.

So if you know anyone one that would love this stuff or you would like to here more contact me today.

New Club Starting in January

Hey everyone I just wanted to let you know that I have a new club starting in January.  It will be on January 13th.  I have two times available.  Daytime is from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm or evening from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.  I also have a Saturday Club which will meet once a quarter from 10:oo am – 3:00 pm to make the projects.

Each month you will get to make a project (either a 12 x 12 double page scrapbook layout or 4 cards).  Plus one of the months you will get to be the hostess and receive all the hostess benefits.  All you need to do is make a commitment to spend $15.00 each month on Stampin’ Up! products of your choice.

Not sure about the commitment?  You can come to club anytime without joining all you have to do is let me know a week in advance.  I charge $7.00 for the projects if you are not a club member (free for club members.)  Or they are free with a $25.00 order.  However if you have never been to club you can come and check it out one month for free.

Click here for the Contract and all the details.

Here’s the fun projects we made last month.

I taught them how to make fun snow globes and how to use our great glitter with less mess.  Here is the snow globe on a card.

Here is how in incorporated the snow globe into the scrapbook pages.  I usually like to make the scrapbook page match one of the cards so you can see how versatile our products can be.  It’s also a great way to start to learn how to take card ideas and turn them into scrapbook pages and scrapbook pages into cards.

My card members always make two each of two different cards.  That way you have one to keep and one to give away.  Here was the second card they got to make.  This time we used window sheets for the snow globe instead of the glitter.

Sometimes I throw in a bonus project for everyone.  I just had to play with our fun pop-up christmas tree die.  This is the outside of the card.

On the 8th day of Christmas . . .

The Stampin’ Santa gave to you a snowflake candle luminary.

I received this item as a Convention swap.  I just had to make more.  I used them for Teacher’s gifts.  We filled them with candy and gave them the candle so they could turn it into a luminary.

It’s made with the Fancy Favor Big Shot die.  The snowflakes are rolled on with versa mark then I embossed them with the iridescent ice embossing powder.  I punched out a snowflake on each side and covered it with White Vellum.  They are finished off with the cute little “Ready Set Snow” stamp (from Best Wishes & More) on the front punched out with the word window punch and layered on the modern label punch.  They were quick and easy to make.  I love that they can be used for the whole winter season.

Remember that I have the Big Shot on sale in my 12 Days of Christmas.  Get it now and start having fun all year.

This fun project is also one of the ones you can get for FREE when you place a $50.00 order.
