Freewheeling Friday 2-13-09

Today was Friday the 13th, but for me it’s usually a good day. Once again that proved to be true. Today I was able to go to the shoebox swap that my up-line Brandi was having. I love it when I can get together with other demonstrators and Stamp. It’s so much fun to visit and get new ideas.

This was one of the 19 cards we got to make. I loved how we used the roller on the flower from the pretties kit. What fun. I also love all the texture in the card. (Texture plates on card-stock and textured DSP.) I think the project was created by Becky.

Freewheeling Friday 2-6-09

This is a card we made at Amy Johnson’s meeting last spring. I think it was created by Brandi Barnard. I think it’s really cute and could be used for many different occasions. The background was easily created using the Stampin’ Around® Wheel.

Freewheeling Friday 1-30-09

I love to make gifts when ever I have a chance. I also love to make the package for them. I usually keep the supplies on hand so I can make one really fast. I’ve used them a lot for Weddings, Showers and Baby Gifts.

This is a sample of the box I made to put the gift in. I love the wheels because it is so fast to decorate the box and they look really cute. I used. 109688 Whimsy Jumbo Wheel $8.50 for this box. Then I just used a piece of paper from the Simply Scrapin’ Kit that I created the gift with. You could use any Simply Scrapin’ Kit or DSP. The one pictured here is an old one that is retired now.

The box is so easy to make. Just decide on your size and depth then score the sides to fit. Cut in on the score on just one side all the way around then fold and attach with mini glue dots or sticky strip. I always make the top box 1/16 bigger so they slide together nicely. Then the box is just finished with a belly band that slides off to open the gift.

This is the gift that I made to put in the box. It is using the same Simply Scrapin’ Kit. I’ve just cut it to fit on one of our on board book basics Large#110713 $7.95 for 4. I love this gift because it is so easy to create and you can change it for about any occasion. The picture part is sized perfectly for a 4×6 photo. Then you just put it on a plate rack holder and it’s a darling picture frame with lots of character.

Freewheeling Friday 1-23-09

This card is really fun because when you pll the string it pops up and you can set it on your counter. I’m not sure who came up with the original design, but I made this card at one of Janice’s Club nights.

It features the Big Bold Birthday set #114926 $28.95. I’m really excited because now they have a Stampin’ Up! exclusive Sizzlits’ 4-pack dies for the Big shot that match this great set 114509 $21.95. I can’t wait to get it and try it out. What fun we can have.

If you look close you can see the wheel that was rolled on the basic part of the card to create a background. (red part) Wheels are a really great way to add a little depth to a project. They are so fast and easy.

Technique Tuesday 1-20-09

I love this all in the family set but often times I’ve heard “I wouldn’t be able to line that up.” Then I just say it’s easy with the stamp-a-ma-jig. All you have to do is stamp the image on your imaging sheet then line it up where you want it remove the imaging sheet and line the stamp up with the jig and stamp. Perfect every time.

However this set has lots of little pieces and I didn’t want to wipe off my imaging sheet every time so I came up with this. I used the little celo bags and stamped one image in each corner (I used StazOn ink). This way I didn’t need to keep wiping them off. Then I just saved the bags and I have it ready to go any time I want to use this great set.

This fun page was created for my sister. It was the front of the Calender I made her for Christmas.

Here is a close up of the cute little family. In the set you can choose the head, body, feet and arms for all the larger family members. There are also lots of fun accessories you can add as well as a cat and a dog.
