Stampin’ Sunday 1-4-09

wb-topAfter I finished making the little wish boxed designed by Kelly Gettelfinger the I showed you in my Marvelous Monday post on December 29th I realized I still had a lot of stuff left from my Simply Scrappin’ Kit.  So I decided so see what I could come up with.  I got the design for this from one of Patty’s posts.  So here is what I came up with.

I used the long ended envelopes to create my book.  First I sealled them the cut of the very edge to make a pocket.  Then I used my punch to punch a whole in each one to make it easy to pull out my cards.

I covered both sides of each envelope with paper.  (I didn’t have enough paper left for these so I used some that I had, same thing with the pullouts.)  I used the crop-a-dile to punch the holes in the side that I tied my ribbon through.  I used the Aspen ribbon from the mini catalog.

wb-openI think this is a great book because of all the pull outs.  It really allow you to put lots of pictures in it and it make a great gift.  I used my extra pieces from the “I wish” Simply Scrapin’ kit to decorate my book.

Remember that this great kit could be on the retired accesories list. (I won’t know for sure until tomorrow.)  So order yours today to make sure you get one.  Click here to start placing your on-line order.

Swapping Saturday 1-3-09

I have to show the pirate set one more time before it’s retired.  I received this card at Regional’s I think two years ago and I still love it.  I love how it opens up to revile the whole message.  It was created by Christy Christiansen from St. George Utah.  I will have to say that this is still one of my favorite swaps.

s-pirate-card-closedShe used a 3×6 sheet for the back ground so it fits in our open ended envelops and then she used a sheet of 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 for the card.  She scored it at 2 3/4 for the bottom and middle section then tore the top edge so that when it fold over it is just slightly smaller.

s-pirate-card-partial-openShe punched a whole in the top layer for the Ahoy Matey and then placed the layered words on the middle layer.

s-pirate-card-openWhen you open it all the way you can see the message inside.  I believe it was the retired birthday set from the old catalog, but you could use almost any set.

Be sure to order your pirate set and wheel before they are gone for good.  You can find it on the dormant list or on page 75 of the Spring/Summer ’08 Catalog.  The stamp set Ahoy, Matey is #107027 for $23.95 and the Jumbo Wheel Matey’s Map is #107212 for $8.50.  Click here to start placing your on-line order.

Freewheeling Friday 1-2-09

I’m getting ready for leadership and I decided to pull out the swaps I had for leadership last year.  I know that the DSP is retired on this page, but the stamp set is still current and I just thought it turned our really cute.

celebrate-pages I pick this page for Freewheeling Friday because I did actually use a wheel on it.  You will notice that I wheeled across one of the small squares with the Whimsy Jumbo wheel #109688.  I used the Garden Whimsy stamp set #109290 for $23.95.  You can find these on pages 92 & 93 of the current catalog.

My inspiration for the page came from the Spring/Summer ’08 catalog.  I used the layout on page 131  and the colors from page 96.  I really loved how it turned out.  The second page was inspired from a little help from up-line Mindy.  The pictures are of my husband Marc and I at convention in Denver 2007.  Xander (my baby) was just 3 week old when we went.  This is the pajama-stamp-a-ram.  We had so much fun.  If you would like to join in the fun I would love you to join my team.  I’d be happy to give you more information just send me an e-mail.

Next time you are having a hard time trying to find a layout be sure to check out our catalogs.  They always inspire me.  I save everyone of them and remember to pre-order your new Spring/Summer ’09 catalog today.  Click here for more info.
